Through a contract with the Florida Parishes Human Services Authority and the Louisiana Office for Addictive Disorders, PRIDE is pleased to provide the Safe Place Group for Children of Addicted Parents. Meeting once a week for 6 weeks, this program for youth in grades Kindergarten through 12th grades teaches children the 3 C's about their relative's addiction. They didn't CAUSE the problem. They don't have to CURE the problem. They can COPE with the problem.
The program is led by two trained facilitators and participants play games and do activities to learn skills including problem solving, communication, healthy relationships, coping, and safety.
