A Message From PRIDE's
President
Each
year, Prevention with PRIDE (PRIDE) shares its
message with over 82,000 youth and adults in St. Tammany
and Washington Parishes to encourage their healthy, drug-
free development.
This great effort is accomplished through many avenues,
namely, Red Ribbon Week, the PRIDE Troupe, the Positive
Action and Positive Attitude summer leadership programs,
the Safe Place Group, Media Campaigns, Newsletters,
Websites, and parent information sessions.
PRIDE is partially funded by the Florida Parishes Human
Services Authority and other private grants, but must
depend on the generosity of those who know it best to
complete its funding needs.
This year, PRIDE is instituting a new Annual Giving Program
– Friends of PRIDE – to address the additional operating
costs it incurs in order to continue to reach as many
people as possible.
I hope that you will join this new membership group, and
partner with us as PRIDE continues to work to keep the
youth of our area safe, healthy and drug-free. I have
enclosed a reply envelope for your convenience.

Your
Membership Will Make A Difference!
Every gift to PRIDE makes a difference in our program!
Below are just a few examples of how membership gifts could
make a difference in the coming year.
A $25 Membership
provides
100 brochures for PRIDE’s resource library which is
available for parents who need current, up to date
information about drugs and their effects.
A $50 Membership
provides
A facilitator to meet with parents to educate them about
trends in drug use and methods to keep their children
drug-free.
A $100 Membership
provides
A partial scholarship for one student to participate in the
PRIDE Troupe and travel to area schools performing and
spreading the mission of PRIDE.
A $250 Membership
provides
A scholarship for one student to participate in the
Positive Attitude or Positive Action Leadership Camp each
summer OR a full scholarship for one student to participate
in the PRIDE Troupe.
A $500 Membership
provides
A scholarship for a member of the PRIDE Troupe to receive
intensive drug prevention training at the International
PRIDE Conference.
A $1,000 Membership
provides
One month’s rent and utilities for the PRIDE office to
operate.
A $2,500 Membership
provides
Printing and postage for one issue of PRIDE’s quarterly
newsletter which is distributed to over 3,500 people.
